Blackpool illuminations get green light display

Solar power and a wind turbine at the blackpool illuminations! YAY... but only for one display.
The Green Machine
This massive 110-ft tableau, which will be sited along the Cliffs area at Bispham, features a 'first' for Blackpool Illuminations. This is the first time in Illuminations history a tableau will be powered by solar panels and a wind turbine. As well as the renewable energy message, The Green Machine features families exercising and eating healthily, to promote a happier and longer life. The tableau features an array of colour, lighting effects and movement to create a truly unique tableau for this year's display.

Let's hope that the result of this 'Green Machine' will mean that next year will see more of the illuminations being powered by solar/wind/alternative energy.
