Hi all - hope this finds you well!

Just a shortie to say I have started broadcasting a show on our local hospital radio station, called 'Slow Down and Green Up with Tracey Smith'.

It's on a Wednesday from 10 until noon.

Each week, I will be talking about ways we can ditch the stresses of modern day living, lean towards the green, do ’stuff’ with our kids without flexing a plastic friend, embrace some of Mother Natures own gifts, cook some great, simple nosh from fresh and make more ethical shopping decisions on a modest family budget.

I’ll also be doing outside broadcasts at some of the south west's best organic and ’slow’ local food producers and restaurants, sampling and talking about their food and getting your saliva glands working overtime!

You can listen in if you are in the hospital complex, or on the MW 1431 and on the good old internet too via http://www.AppleAM.com.

My first broadcast this week went well(ish), although you could have fried a free ranger on my cheeks during the first 15 minutes.....it wasn't the worry of talking, I can do that, it was all the knobs and buttons I had to fiddle with at the same time

So, if you fancy a laugh for a couple of hours while I fret and panic with me knobs, tune in next week!

Love to all,
T x

Thanks Shirlz - great, now I have 2 definate listeners, you and Shiney  I'd better sort out a hot rocking playlist this week!

Any requests chick?

As for Scotland, it would be great to come up. I might be heading up there this year if one of my projects comes off - I could do a hagis and neeps tour!

Hi mate!

Actually, this could be a thread in it's own right!

Can you give me songs (groovy ones mind you) that link to Sustainable Living and Downshifting.

Here's a start.

'I Want a Lover With a Slowhand' - Pointer Sisters

I do like the one that has featured on many a HFW programme... baba o'riley by The Who....

Out here in the fields
I fight for my meals
I get my back into my living
I don't need to fight
To prove I'm right
I don't need to be forgiven

Hi Shirlz,

I have to do the whole show, kit and caboodle!

The hardest part is, as you come up to the news.

You have to pick a song that ends with enough time for the news jingle to play, then fade down music and whack in the news!

There is a chart, that shows record times (ie 3 minutes 3.01 3.02 etc) and it shows you at exactly what second you have to start playing the final song, so that you have 9 seconds for the news jingle before the news comes on the top of the hour

That bit's gotta get easer with practice :geek:

I will tell you about the project if/when if comes off - I cannot tempt fate!

Am off to look at the theme thread for inspiration.

I know, that's why I mentioned it. Shiney told everyone where you live! (That girl  ) I thought - I know the name of that place, why is it familiar? Then looked on a map and realised where it was!
