Living off grid is full time

The work involved in off grid living.

This couple have invested heavily in things to make it possible for them to be self sufficient. I suspect it's taken time and money over years to get this far.

Some good tips there - especially about heating. Many people live in their summer clothes all year and crank the heating up instead of putting on a jumper or vest.

However, in the current situation, that's not an option for many folk. Nor is getting in diesel to run generators (and red diesel is unavailable to the general public - petrol pump diesel is really expensive these days). Or bulk buying to get cheaper oil etc.

I saw a Tweet, just yesterday, that said food banks are now calling for foodstuffs that don't need cooking! In just a few short months we seem to have reverted to society supported by charities and philanthropists, with people starving if they don't know where to access them or fall foul somehow of their rules.
