Indoor raised bed

There's a community centre that has a brick-walled raised bed in its foyer. It's light, kept at a nice temperature and there are some special lights for plants positioned in the ceiling above. It's been a bit sad for a long time. What it needs is planning and designing and the right sort of plants in it. I would think foliage plants only, with a few flowers in pots (so they can be easily removed when petals drop) during the summer. What sort of easy to maintain, reliable and resilient plants can you recommend, and any design ideas would also be welcome.

Have a look at Edible Todmorden for ideas.

They don't seem to be into foliage houseplants in indoor raised beds, unless I've managed to overlook something obvious.

They're mainly foliage plants - vegetables and herbs, for sharing with the community. I thought it might be appropriate for a community centre.
