Granola bars from packet granola?

I have bought from lidl Simply Scrumptious Granola cereal. It is 475cal per 100gm. I want to turn this into granola bars cooked in oven. I think I could get about 20 bars giving say 120cal per bar plus whatever it takes to glue it together. Any suggestions for a recipe welcome. Thanks.

This is mine - not sure if it's what you're looking for, but it's quite forgiving if you wanted to change quantities etc.
3 cups homemade muesli (or granola - just bear in mind granola has already been baked with oil/sweetener, usually so you may need to reduce other measures)
1 1/2 cups flour/ground almonds/dessicated coconut etc
1 cup seeds/nuts of choice
1 cup brown sugar or honey
6-8 oz butter (probably less for granola)
1/2 cup apple juice, milk of choice or water
Warm butter, honey and apple juice.
Combine all other ingredients.
Mix wet and dry ingredients and put in swiss roll tray. Score the top into bars.
Bake, 200C for about 15 mins, cut while still hot and allow to cool in tray.

Thanks for that. Given that my Granola already has the nuts and fruit I guess I need the flour, sugar or honey and butter and the water added to make into the gluey mess consistency. What do you think of that for starters? Would the almond or coconut be alternatives to flour or as well as? Thanks.

I use the ground almonds etc instead of flour, if I'm trying to cut down on gluten.
I add the fruit, seeds and nuts as well, my muesli contains all of them.
Don't make it to wet, unless you're planning on leaving it to soak for a while. It needs to be gooey rather than soggy, before baking.

GA's in Scotland, happyhacker. They may be Scottish cups, but I think they're the same as English ones

I don't think it particularly matters. There's not a huge difference.

For a non-recipe approach, if I was doing this I'd melt some butter in a large pan and stir in a similar quantity of sugar (I'd use soft brown), then stir in your granola until it's all coated, but in separate pieces, not a gooey lump. You should be able to get quite a lot of cereal to your butter and sugar. Then I'd see whether I had a tin/tray the right size, find that I hadn't and add more of everything until I ended up with a quantity that looked about right, then press the mixture into a tin, and bake. I'd probably start with about 2 oz of butter... maybe a bit less sugar, come to think of it, if the packet cereal is already quite sweet.
As for cups, the ones I have in my cupboard vary from about 4 fl oz to 8 fl oz, which is the US cup size. The recipe may tolerate the difference, but it would make a difference which ones I used.

Well, I have made them and stick together fairly well. They are a bit floury and I'm wondering why. Would an egg in the mix help? This is what I did:
500g packet granola
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup ground almond
1/2 cup soft brown sugar
6oz unsalted butter
1/2 cup apple juice
Thanks.

I don't know why it's turned out floury - the only thing I can think is that you added ground almonds instead of larger pieces, so there may not have been enough liquid.

That's an extra half cup of flour/ground almond/etc. That's probably why it's a bit floury.
