How do i get rid of ants without using any nasty chemicals?

If they are in the garden I leave them to their own devices, but if they building a nest in pavement cracks near the house, boiling hot water works a treat. A quick/instant death; just keep your eyes out for more ants and repeat as necessary until they decide to nest elsewhere.

I am in a hotel in Nepal.

The ants are coming in through a window - the nest must be the other side of the wall but i wouldn't be able to get to it.


So there's loads of them crawling in through the window and all in the bathroom over the sink and spreading.

Could try a sprinkling of powdered cinnamon near thresholds etc. Ants don't like to cross it.

ooh, now that sounds like a good idea. i saw some cinnamon essential oil in the gift shop - do you think that would do?
