I have a loganberry shrub that appears to be growing well, nice and leafy, but there don't appear to be any buds on it. Will that happen later in the year or is something wrong?

Loganberries produce their fruit on last year's canes, so if there wasn't any (they got cut off) then I'm afraid you won't get any fruit.
I'm picking mine now so if you can't at least see any flowers, that will be the reason.
If you look after all that new growth you will have a bumper crop next year though.

Of course it depends on where you are, but I'm in the South of England and my main plant is covered in fruit now. The cane that I planted last year hasn't fruited at all so it could be just too immature.

If it's playing tag, and knocking your neigbours door bells and running away, I think you might be right!

My loganberries are just going red, but still very hard, so I reckon a week.

It looks like I'll have to wait until next year then..
