I spotted that one yesterday and it made me sit and think for a while. The realisation that the only other humans to have seen that plant were hunter-gatherers is ... well, strange.

Remarkable,but to see something really old pop down your local park,there may well be a Gingko (approx 150 million year old species,and they look it.)

+1 to mares tail it looks like something from the Jurassic era.

We gave up our allotment in the end because of it- the area was covered in it and it out competed virtually every other plant. The old boys used to use roundup to chemically nuke it, but we are organic so that wasn't an option, we just used black plastic. Then when we took the plastic off the equisetum popped up again :banghead:
