Our hens have stopped laying....we bought them in the spring and they've not been great layers all year really. We think we were sold older birds under the guise of point of lay birds.
How are everyone else's doing?? We know they'll be stopping laying for winter soon anyway but they've just not been doing well at all....any suggestions or ideas greatfully received.

Re: Non laying chickens
I bought some 16 week old pure bred light Sussex back in January. They laid all spring and summer but for the last couple of months have been moulting and going off lay one at a time (which is handy).
Then they start laying again, and as I am going to provide light for them for a few hours every night, I expect them to lay all through the winter ... although not quite as prolifically.
Do your hens look a bit scruffy and are there quite a few feathers in the house and run ?
Yours are perhaps going into moult as well.
