Anyone keep bees and want to write a short article about how you set it up etc?

And how a mild winter sees them start flying early, then a cold snap in March/April kills the lot because they're no longer in a tight ball...
Yes, the Stonehead curse did for our bees this year. We really miss having bees as they have a way of making the place come to life, but replacing them with even two nucleuses is well beyond our budget. We just have to hope for a swarm or two - and that's chancy anyway.

Commiserations, Stonehead, I lost mine too this winter, down here in balmy Dorset

It did get very cold ehre for a while, and di for the lot of them unfortunately. Am getting mor, though, I love them.
