i have fan trained peach tree in my greenhouse (a stick from the final days of Woolies)... this year a good crop of potential peaches... except that some of them are splitting
is this a watering problem? not enough or too much?
or a greenhouse too hot / cool / variable?

Its more than likely irregular watering. Some varieties are more prone than others. The similar effect is very noticed in certain cherry varieties as well.

Not a subject i know very much about, but i know that tomatoes can be tasteless unless they get fed as well as watered (one old neighbour told me that a kind of sheep's jobbies tea is best!!!), and i wondered if the principle was true for peaches also?
I can't wait to get my greenhouse up, I got it from a nearby house that was being demolished and it had a peach tree in it then, i'm definitely going to give it a go, cause the fresh peaches were gorgeous!
