Mites driving me mad.!!!

Post: # 236471Post matowakan »

I am having a bad problem with mites this year with the chooks. I cant seem to get on top of them.
I have a recommended mite powder which I am going through in the coop quickly but they are everywhere!!
Should I change the product to something like Diatom as I have heard this is good.
What with this and the diarrohea I am beginning to think chooks and me dont work together any more after keeping them successfully for years with no problems!!
I am sprinkling it everywhere, outside and in ,on the ground the chooks but I cant get rid of them.......

they can be hard to get rid of once you have them.. and not good.

diatom does work but takes time, and we use it more as preventative. Red mite spray (not that weird powder laced with tea tree and lavendar.. or as we call it.. useless) does work.

keep at it. as a bad case can be fatal. i did a blog post on this a while a go, if it helps
