I've been trying to get an early start growing peppers this year so from mid Jan in a heated propagator I planted seeds.
Nothing.
At two-week intervals I've planted 3 or 4 separate varieties in trays in the greenhouse (temps up to 37C).
Nothing.
It was the same last year... what am I doing wrong?
Peppers - whats the secret?
Re: Peppers - whats the secret?
Try chitting them first Dave, that's what I always do .. along with tomatoes, aubergines, sweetcorn, parsnips, cucumbers & melons
Margarine container, damp paper towel, airing cupboard, that sort of thing .. works every time for me.
If they haven't sprouted within 7 days in a warm airing cupboard you've got duff seed.

Re: Peppers - whats the secret?
Could the propagator be too hot? I know they won't germinate below 18 degrees but 37 seems a bit high.

Definately,37 is FAR too hot. Low to mid 20's sounds better.
