Bee Question - TBH to Langstroth

Hi everyone,

I built a top bar hive last year, caught and housed a swarm in it. It's over wintered well, and they are becoming more active. I want to use a polystyrene Langstroth hive, as I would like to gain more honey from the hive. However my quandry is that I have an established colony in the top bar that now need to be moved to the Lang.

I've trawled through Google, but it seems to be everyone going from Lang's to top bar. I was thinking perhaps I could do an artificial split, but the problem is moving the brood frames into the Lang. I would rather move the entire colony.

I know this may seem bass ackwards, but I am a beginner and I think the Lang will be easier to work with.

Thanks in advance,

Dan.

Hi there,

I haven't yet, but I expect that I know the response already "Why do you want to do that" ! I've posted on there simply out of curiosity.
