Congratulations!
And we are supposed to have a good week ahead - meaning warm and dry-ish. (Mind you, it looks dull and damp out there at the moment...)

Really pleased for you Nev. It is getting dry here and I've come back from wet old England to a dry dusty garden. Already gone through nearly 1,000 litres from my water butts.

Yet according to the statistics we are supposed to get 50mm of rainfall each month during the summer. We only got 15mm in May.

Ho well on the bright side we don't get any slugs!

We've had a terrible May of ONLY rain. The fact that we've had five days or so of sunshine is fab!
I expect the rain will be back soon ~ this is isn't sooo bad tho' because my water butt is nearly empty!
Good for you though Nev, I guess it's welcomed in your neck of the woods.

The two back tanks are now shaping up to almost full, the new side one is only about 20% full so plenty of room left there. Long weekend this weekend and it is supposed to be WET!

Don't you normally get autumn rains well before June, Nev? Seems late to be getting them as you must be nearly into winter now. Is the whole country drier than normal?
A lot of my water tanks are empty now but that's not a bad thing as they'd sunk into the ground (bloody moles

) so we need to get some more pallets under them so we can get the watering cans under properly!

According to the experts M3 Sydney is on the dividing line below us gets predominantly winter rainfall, above us, prdominantly summer rainfall. We are supposed to get rain all year 'round. No-one told the weather though..........

I want some rain.
People always think of England as wet but apart from a heavy shower a few days ago that dampened the bottom of my dry water tank... nothing. nada.
I'm reduced to using tap water on my crops and it hurts me to use drinking water... especially as I pay for it!
Question: my water tank is one I got from freecycle.org and is intended for loft water storage. It's black plastic but it ocurred to me yesterday that it my not last long in sunlight. Some plastic is resistant to UV but how do I tell if this is?

We're onto week 4 or something like that with no rain.
This morning we just filled up some of the water tanks and butts with the hosepipe

so I have water near the veg patch.
Grrrrrrrrrrrr.
