Who's wassailing?lol

Hi all,
Can someone help me out?I've just read in a book that the official date for "wassailing"is 17th January.Is this correct?I had always thought it was sometime in Autumn????? Does anyone have any wassailing rituals they'd like to share with me?We planted our first apple tree last year so would like some idea's??

I don't know, but the Pagans on our allotment who run the community orchard are wassailing on 9th January this year. I haven't managed to get to them in the past, but they're on Youtube

Saw this on the Edwardian Farm TV series, hadn't known what it was about before. Yes I've seen HFW do 'it' on telly without it being really explained.

Maybe I should go and wassail in my apple orchard in the hope of a good crop this year? :iconbiggrin:

It seems to depend very much on where you are however traditionally Wassailing is 12th Night (old or new) Here in East Sussex there are 2 major events one tonight in Tarring

I'm sure it's what kept everyone sane many moons ago, it must have been a tough life so a bit of wassailing wouldn't have gone amiss.
