				Sorry don't know the answer as I can't work out the question - at all! So I'll just watch this with interest to find out what you are talking about - computers, ink or livestock.

 I had to read it three times, too - glad I'm not the only one!
I think he's trying to find out how much the electricity would cost to run a certain type of incubator. Nothing to do with online, nothing to do with ink (although I was wondering...)
Matty - am I right? If not, could you please enlighten us?

				Alright Matty! Of the top of my head I hav a feeling 15p sounds about right. We used a Brinsea were I used to work, personally I think they r the best inkys! If you contact Brinsea they should be able to help by giving u an accurate breakdown.
What r u thinking of hatching? If its fattening birds, great if its layers, maybe not so! It would be cheaper to buy a batch of somewere that has them sexed as when u hatch ur own generally there is a large percentage of roosters, unless u get lucky!!! Goodluck with it. Let us know how u get on. Sue xx

				I'd love to be able to answer the question, but I've never stopped & worked it out

I hatch most of our birds here & I'm not worried if they are hens, roosters, ducks or drakes...... the ducks & hens are kept or sold & the roosters & drakes end up in the oven, so all good!
I'll watch the thread with interest though - it'd be nice to know how much the little blighters cost before they even get here!

				Inky = incubator ... simples.

Sexing is easy if you choose sex-linked colour.
My RIR crossed L.Sussex gives pale yellow hen chicks and orange male chicks.
... or just eat the lot.

				Only simples to those who call them that - never heard it myself. Also I didn't know they went 'online'; I've only heard that relating to the internet before. Thanks for clarifying that Ina!

				inky is short for incubator you almost got to say it every time you say the word so as im not good at spelling etc i use the shorter terminology. i hatched 3 out of 6 legbars 1 hatched on my daughters birthday in august. 1 hen 2 cockerals was going to eat one of them and maybe give my mum the hen im going to start a hatch in march time for thhe friend i got the eggs off as shhe is breeding a X of legbar and B.O to get auto sexing im going to hatch a batch of RIR x legbar of my mums as a chick of hers has just started producing fertile eggs so im just thinking as fox got my 3 chicks of last hatch i may start off a hatch soon to get ready for next year. as im not earning i need to cacalate my spendings so i can afford to as my OH has said it cost loads last time but im trying to get a price of what it would cost to hatch and brood. that make any more sense?

				I appreciate that money is tight,but a small incubator uses hardly any power(especially if its one you turn yourself).I'd be surprised if a 20 or 30 egg manual turn machine used much more than the pump in the fish tank.Actually incubating a few eggs a nd selling the young birds,can be a good way of generating a few extra pennies,especially if you can get some good breeding stock.
