Foraging in Bath

Hello
I have just moved to Bath and am looking for some local knowledge on good locations and possibly an sweet chestnut trees. I have alread found the mass of Sloes near Combe Down. Thanks,

Hi Ben. Can't help you with the Bath area but welcome to ish

. We're keeping an eye out for chestnuts ripening, as yet the nuts are still pale and bitter but should be ready in a few weeks.

Hi, Picked up a bunch of chestnuts at the Westonbirt Arboretum on Sun. Think they might just be ready too. As for Bath itself I don't know of any though the Claverton down area is good for Mushroom. I once found an enormous colony of oyster mushrooms in the American Museum woods! I'm going to drive to Sally in the Woods (near Bath Easton) tonight to try my luck for some blewits or boletes!
