Pigs and the inevitable day they have to go...

Need some advice on the best time to 'harvest' my piggies. :dontknow:

I have taken on 3 great not-so-little Gloucester Old Spots - trouble is I have no idea what date I should send them to meet their maker - I'm getting a lot of help from M*rshfi**d Organic but I can't decide when to send them off...

I have been told that a porker is usaully about 24 weeks and a baconer is anything from 10 months on - is this a hard and fast rule?

I would like to get bacon and pork from my pigs but I'm not sure I can easily do this as I don't want to send just 1 away for pork and have 2 for bacon - main thing is that I want my own cured ham for Christmas - when is the best time for me to send them to the butchers?
