Strawberry Question

I have a few wild strawberry plants, we brought a big pot last year that had absolutely loads of runners on it, but they are not fruiting or even flowering much. They are in about the best, sunniest, sheltered spot in my garden so no excuses there. I have been taking off any runners they re throwing out to try and keep all of the plant's energy into growing/fruiting. Is this hindering the flowering ? or am I doing something else wrong ? or just being impatient

Thanks

some years they fruit, some years they don't. In this area, wild strawberries are prolific, in other areas there'll be none. In other years when we have none, there are tonnes in the next town!

Try fertilizing with sulfate of potash - potassium salts - it will help stimulate and support flower and fruit formation.
