I was wondering, can anyone recommend some books on alternative energy the contain the maths and tech details involved?
All the book i have seen so far gloss over the formulas. As I come from a technical background, I am keen to know.

What kind of alternative energy do you have in mind? Wind-electric, hydro-electric, solar-electric, solar-thermal, geothermal, biomass, something else?

The 'Mother Earth News Almanac' and 'Mother Earth News handbook of homemade power' have some useful if slightly dated info in them.

try http://www.scribd.com/doc/30434750/Wind ... nd-Turbine for the UK's small wind guru - he has lots on scribd

and David Mackay's general overview http://www.withouthotair.com/

I have tried both small wind and PV and have 5 years practical experience - ask away !
