Use of cat litter

Post: # 194715Post akeybreaky »

Can you add used cat litter of the wood pellet biodegradable variety, once poo removed of course, on your compost heap ? In small doses.

I did contemplate scattering it as a possible mouse deterrent round my vulnerable bean and pea patch, but a bit worried about side effects on plants themselves......

When we had cats we always used the wood pellet type cat litter and spread it out on the compost, it soon rots down nicely. We still used to get rats and mice in the heaps though!
