I'm from the Isle of Man!
Hi everyone, just a few quick words to introduce myself..
I'm Nick, and me and the wife (Ruth) live in a small village on the Isle of Man. Close to where we live, we're lucky enough to have 10 acres of agricultural land that we intend to turn into a small holding. We have built stables and a barn, and split the land into a few paddocks where we currently graze 3 horses and some Sheep. I have dug a load of veg beds and planted loads of seeds and we're planning on breeding chickens for meat and eggs. Obviously the long term aim is to be self sufficient ish, and live on the land.
We recently bought a small herd of Manx Loaghtan Sheep and our four Ewe's have just succesfully given birth to five lovely little lambs. We've got two wethers that will be ready for slaughter in August and they will be the first home grown meat we will have produced.
I work in IT in a High Street Bank and Ruth is a accountant so at the moment our small holding endeavours are just part time.
I'm planning on scouring the forums for hints and tips and I'm more than happy to offer advice on any matter relating to IT in exchange for tips on farming!

Hi there and welcome

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!
