I have had hens before but not Pekin Bantams - I have a white,2 black and a partridge.
I cannot remeber the point of lay age. Is it around the 20 weeks?
I have 2 that are aprrox 25 weeks,a 19 weeks and a 16 weeks.
Am I also right in thinking that the point of lay can be up to 35 weeks?
Please help a lady of certin age whose brain seems to turning to mush!!

like ADG said 16 weeks onwards but it does vary.
when I go mine (ISA browns) they where 17 weeks, I got some for AnnPan at the same time, she got eggs within the first week, I had to wait another 2 weeks for mine,it seemed like ages!

I have a feeling that my Pekin bantam didn't lay for about 6 months so don't be surprised if it takes a while longer than you were expecting.
The weather seems to affect it as well. If it's still cold it may delay POL

if your pekin's coming of age coincided with the day length decreasing and you didnt provide artificial lighting to increase to 16hrs then she wouldnt lay until the day length was increasing naturally

Hi Matowakan. I don't think Pekins are bred for their eggs, more of a show bird, so they may not be that productive anyway, maybe that's another reason why you are waiting.
