I have spare pan lids (glass and metal) from broken pans, and lots of empty CD cases, is there anyway they can be recycled or is landfill the only option?

I have some old saucepan lids that I've kept. I have some serving dishes which don't have lids and the saucepan lids are perfect to pop over the dishes.

I also use the glass ones to cover tenderish plants in pots outside or as mini-propagators.
