Anyone got a link to some plans for hedgehog houses?
Ours keep trying to sleep in the goose house and then the geese are too frightened to go in there

Thanks Squirrel46
I have to build the balustrade around our covered deck this weekend and I am going to use the offcuts to build the hedgehog house.
If I get it finished I will post pictures of both the deck and the hedgehog house.
The weather isn't looking all that good on Saturday and We are having a VW tune up day on Sunday so I will have to get it done tomorrow

Well, despite the weather (we had hail at one point) I managed to get the deck done. A coat of preservative tomorrow so it will blend in with the rest and a gate and we're done.
The hedgehog house will have to be done tomorrow

Here you go
It has ventilation and an entrance tunnel and a divider to shield the hog from drafts and preditors
We are going to bury it in a mound of leaves and see what happens
Managed to get the woodwork on the deck painted before the heavens opened

Brilliant Mamos!

My husband made something similar years ago though his ventilation was a bit of pipework with a bend out of the top! We left it behind when we moved house cos the hogs used it every winter and we didn't have to heart to take it away.

Well it has been in place for over 24 hours now but no hogs have taken up residence yet.
I have lightly propped a twig across the entrance so i will be able to tell if anything has gone in there
Fingers crossed eh

Did you get any takers for the little house? Looks lovely - I hope it is being used!

That's lovely mamos

. I envy you as we intend making a hog house when and if we get our own place so well done. Nice to know he/she will have somewhere cosy for the winter.
