As an avid listener to radio 2 it would be great to get a mention on there.
On the steve wright in the afternoon show there is a website of the week bit. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/wright/contact.shtml - you have to mention it to miles mendoza who runs that part.

I have conacted them twice and heard nothing but if we all have a go then I am sure that they will have to listen to us

How about it? and if there are any other stations, magazine etc that do a similar thing then perhaps we could ask them too.

Have emailed immediately to Wrighty and to Miles Mendoza with messages about how amazing, green, supportive, environmentally friendly, etc. this site is. Hope this is a start. Sue (aka Wooly).

lol.... hey... everyone... get googling...

I've searched for website of the week and it appears that there are LOTS of websites/programmes that do this.

I've suggested it to the council at salford... as an ex-mancunian of course... and also many of the local bbc radio stations do this website of the day at lunchtimes...

Do WE have a website of the week here on ssish?? Perhaps if we did we could ask the weekly winner to give reciprocal links or something....?

Perhaps I could set up a website of the week from the most suggestions. It could go as a new sticky every week on the links links and more links section. Then if it seems popular we will incorperate it into the main site.

To get on Wrighties program you need something wacky. Perhaps we could all send in shots of our Heath-Robinson type ss-inventions... eggbox firelighters, tyre composters, solar cookers, broom'n'spoons?

Hey! Like brooms? Like spoons? You'll love new Broom'n'Spoon! tm

I think I've solved your broom&spoon mystery. There was a programme on earlier about an animal sanctuary in Africa, where they had cheetahs. They were feeding these titbits of meat using a spoon on the end of a pole. Obviously you live in a wilder part of Dorset where there are big cats about, which the previous owners were feeding.

The "thanks a lot Andy" comment was sarcastic!!! But I found this guy's letters really funny so I kept on reading. I really ought to get out more!

Actually cheers for that M3 found that quite interesting. I have done a similar thing with emails to companies that I don't like the most notable were mars and nestle. I said to nestle that I bought a smarties bar and it only had 2 smarites in it they gave me a cheque for £2.50. I told mars that a tracker bar had a bite taken out of it and got £5 in gift vouchers.

Always worth a go, supermarkets are rubbish in my expierence for giving out free stuff. I was asked if I want a chat with the manager at somerfield once when I said the two for one offers only had one most of the time. I declined.

Yep you are right about the someting wacky, (god I hate that word) will have to get the old thinking cap on.

Ah now I get it! And the broom bit is for once the meat has been processed.
