I use a salt crystal one, pit-rock. It doesn't smell and is really effective and lasts years.

I put one on here a while ago...not sure where it is now. It makes a deodorant stick, and has beeswax, and som other oils in it. Basically, the EOs that you need to odour protection are Thyme and something else that i can't remember....but you can use any other EOs/skiin friendly fragrance oils to scent it.

So do I! And sometimes I use one of the Weleda ones - I quite like the citrussy one. Doesn't smell girly....

Untill it slips out of your hand and breaks in the sink.... it has sharp corners now

, I think I'll get myself a new one... still I have had that one about 20 months and it showed no signs of wearing down. I am also convinced I have been less sweaty since I started using it too

Ann - I actually have one in stick form - with a plastic protection around it... Probably not quite PC, but at least the chance that it breaks is minimal!

so it actually works then? doctor recommended it a couple of years ago cause im a super sweaty betty, but i never really tried it. i had a prescription one that you use every day for a week, and then slowly wean yourself off it so you end up using it once a week with the same effect..

I use a crystal stick as well. It is excellent.
No aluminium to affect the whole body and accumulate over years.
No perfumes to clash with the lovely smell of my organic products.
Easy to use.
Lasts for years.
Effective.

I use a pitrok one and I've had mine for over a year and it's still going strong.
I don't think I'd ever use anything else.

Oh yeah the salt crystal ones are superb.
When I first looked I couldn't find a 'normal' looking one they all looked like stones... or something... but now they are packaged to look like regular deodorants - I know, excess plastic packaging, but at least you don't look like a weirdo, plus it is easier to make the transition, cause it looks similar to the thing you used to use.
I would definitely say that it helps reduce your sweaty betty levels. I maybe apply every 4 days now, perhaps more in really hot weather, if I am doing sweaty chores. Some times, with mitchum mens extra strength I would be a twice a day girl

and I was still sticky.
