Can anyone help me I have red mite in the henhouse.I have scrubbed it out with jeyes fluid and sprayed with Barrier red mite stuff and attempted to dust the birds but I am told this is only a repellant and if there are any of the little blighters left they will live on!The other stuff is nearly £40 and kills everything! But if I scrub the house every week will it have the same effect as the £40 stuff the man told me I would need to retreat every few weeks with it?I am told they will always find there way back in somehow.Greasing the ends of the roosting bars was another tip I was given .Any other tips?Am I doing it right

we found two things that helped

red mite spray.. which does have the nasty chemicals.. you can just spray in the nooks and crannies and on the perch ends

and diatom - a chalky dust.. seems to kill em eventually - we use that as a deterant.

if your hen house is wooden you can also blow torch the blighters.. (mot setting light!) not sure how much it helps but makes youfeel better...

I found that barrier stuff totally useless
