Nope worked it out... and you will be shocked that folks eat this .... Arum.... nope dont say rubbish like I did. First I didn't relate the leaves to the berries we see later. One of the rangers suggested it and we all thought why would you forage that. So double checked the pics and yep definatly. Googled and found one place that say if you know what your about you can use the roots and the leaves ... I would have to be very hungry to take the risk ... and to top it I saw some being sold in Ludlow the weekend and I was dragged away being told to mind my own business ... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooooooooolllllllllllllllllllllllllll.... I just need to be on my own

Wow.

I did wonder from the description and I've known folks who've taken it for Sorrel when the leaves are very young but it's not a mistake you'd make twice if you ever saw them together (or tasted Arum in error!).

Good grief. I wonder if the foragers collecting & selling it really know what they're at & what it's being sold as?

I hope nobody buys it who doesn't know what they are doing with it. I've read that you can use the roots in times of desperation i.e. famine!!! but didn't know the leaves could be eaten as what I've read about lords and ladies said they were poisonous. I hope this wasn't in a shop because they should be reported!
