Hatching Pheasant eggs

Hi

I have just been given about a dozen pheasant eggs, some of which are from a breeding pair and some from wild pheasant hens who have been enticed over by the cock's early morning calling and just dropped eggs outside the enclosure.

I have put them all into the incubator but I don't know if they are all fertilised or not, chucked in a few quail duck and chicken eggs too - while it's on and running might as well get the most from it - not one broody hen around this spring!

Anyway - my question was - does any one have any experience of pheasant egg hatching or even of keeping pheasant afterwards - my only experience is of plucking and cooking pheasant!

Thanks

Monika

What a shame you are far away as I have a stupid broody hen sitting on nothing and I'm just cross with her as she was off lay for 5 months over winter, then 5 weeks of eggs and now broody!   :cussing: Sorry can't help with your question though, good luck!
