£400m child tax credit goes untaken

Parents could soon miss out on as much as £400 million of child tax credits.

Some 4.6 million families were eligible for the benefit, but only 3.9 million have actually claimed it.

Parents now have until January 31st to claim unclaimed Children's Tax Credit for 2002-03

I'm going to give the tax office a call tomorrow! Probably the best way to go about it at this late stage.

Don't build your hopes up though - apparently it was automatically issued to most people and you can check to see whether you've already been paid by looking at a p60 for that period.

I had already had this payment but it was worth checking just in case.
