Waterproof fire starters

I guess this tutorial was made for survival or some such but it could become an interesting alternative to those white fire lighters that you use for your BBQ etc

On a more simple note - I couldn't say if they are waterproof but they are nice. Pine cone firelighters. Basically a pinecone pushed into a bun case of melted beeswax, and left to cool. Look pretty and smell nice. I have even given them as gifts to friends who have open fires.

ooh the pine cones sound nice.
Dont' bother using the waterproof windproof matches - Nik and i bought some one year to use whilst camping...and they failed. They were waterproof, windproof and lightproof!
