I just learned of this wonderful website from another forum - it has great creative ideas of things to do with toddlers, and it is just amazing to see all the fantastic things this mama has done with her little one, its a real inspiration:

I know it's pedantic but can it be Parents and toddlers please?

My wife gave birth to our son 19 years ago tomorrow.....in 12 hours and 17 miuntes to be precise then after 6 weeks buggered off to work again. I brought up our son and was one of the first househusbands. I was well at home with 30 odd women talking about breast feeding anf anti collic teats etc, I got abused by other "so called men" fo doing a womans job and as such I must have been a pervert of a puff.....

Thank you !!

One experience that I remember was at a well baby clinic in 1989 and I'm in the group of 30 odd women as I said talking about breast feeding etc and there was this old man of about 70 ranting and raving and I wasn't bothered because I was learing bits about feeding my baby etc and one of the mothers said "I think he's talking to you" and he was, oh the diatribe of insults and expletives that came out of his mouth, you would think that i was the devil incarnate!! I was a poof, a weirdo, I should get a proper job and let the women do what thet should be doing....

I ignored him at first then a bit later had a word with him outside as he was upsetting the babies. He behaved himself after that.

I went on to setting up parent and toddler groups, over mother and toddler groups etc, also I was the one that got 3 big supermarkets to change their policy on baby changing as they were always in the femail toilets so I'm stood there having to wait until the toilets were empty to change the bairn... one rather reluctant shop got the point when I changed the baby on the customer services desk... yup it was a brown one.... Glad to say my son hasn't taken up the millitant role that is in the genes.

Thanks again though.

nice site, but I've been doing this kind of stuff with soph since she was tiny with no outer input other than sugggestions from my ex-playgroup leader mother.
I really like that threading card though, wonder where my punch and eyelets went...?!
