Just joined today. I have come hear to tell you all about slug pellets containing a pet repellent. Can't say the name as another dog owner whose dog died was threatened with legel action from the firm that manufacture this product. I bought on the advice of my local garden centre. I neede one safe for pets and I was recommended ????It also saidf pet repellent on the container front in big letters. My husky got hold of it when somebody put it in the greenhouse which is in their run and as far as I was aware empty..I had put it outside my dog-run.A family member not knowing what it was put it in the greenhouse.
A pane was missing she jumped in chewed the top of and eat about 2 handfuls. She died an horrific death as the vet tried to save her. It even had the vet in tears. I know now it is highly toxic and contains the chemical meta. On the back of the pack in tiny letters it said " advised to keep away from children and pets.
If I had read this I would never ever have bought it. I have a cat and a chihuahua who have access to the garden never mind the child next-door, wildlife etc. I was stupid relying on somebody else..taking for granted that pet-repellent actually meant that. Please tell every-one you know in case some other dog or God forbid child eats it.
