Hello. Just registered here so hello from me, Carly, and us, North London Hen Rescue We are an independent group of hen enthusiasts working around the country (North London a bit of a misnomer, really), rehoming ex-battery hens (and occasionally other commercial hens).
Our next rescue is on 26-27 July and we're about to close our books to new applications, so if you are interested in getting some ex-batts from us, please check out our website http://www.northlondonhenrescue.org.uk, and use the application form (under "adopting hens") if you would like to rehome some deserving, egg-laying and adorable chickens who would otherwise be dogmeat.
Best wishes all!xxxx Carly

Collecting mine today from Burton on Trent. Can't wait! These are going to be very spoilt hens - I've spent my entire month's savings on new food & stuff for them! OH is building a funky new run but they will be free-range as much as they like too

Got my hens on Sunday. They are still nervous but all three ventured out of the house for the first time today. I've already had two eggs! I hope the feathers grow back soon- poor things. Fortunately, they have plenty of shade in their run though so that they don't get burnt.

Thank you so much for organising the rescue.
