Two new hens!

Post: # 114007Post Teasal »

I saw an ad on a poultry message board, offering two ex battery hens free to a good home. Only problem was they were over in Staffordshire. I messaged the owner, and asked if he could meet me half way, about 10 miles away, and he kindly agreed to meet in a pub car park. Isn't it funny how you can meet a stranger, start chatting and get on like a house on fire .....he only had 4 hens altogether, but with a little boy, he was finding that 4 were too many for the little one to be comfortable round, thats why he was rehoming two. Anyway, we had a lovely chat, and found that we both have old VW beetles as well as hens!!

I am very pleased with these two girls, they are very large for ex battery hens, in nice condition, and best of all since I got them last Thursday they have both laid every day - so they were definitely a bargain!!!

Its great to hear these 2 ex batts have found a good home. I read somewhere that often animals advertised as "FREE TO GOOD HOME" often suffer a terrible fate.
