has anyone ever made this? the house next door is currently empty and i have been *ahem* borrowing from the 2 raspberry bushes in the garden (its over grown, not sure the last owner even knew they were there) and wondering if i will get enough to make into wine....has anyone got a recipe? i will probably only use one demijohn as there arent a huge amount of raspberries.

Very, very cloying - raspberry can be an overwhelming flavour and, if it's the only fruit in a wine, it is overwhelming. Some people say that raspberries should never form more than a quarter of the fruit, and I tend to agree with them. Mixing the berries with something more insipid (apples are good) always gives you a better wine.

Rhubarb combines superbly with raspberry and has the same beautiful colour (see my post in the rhubarb wine thread posted two minutes ago!).

Somewhere! I remember making it up using half a rhubarb wine recipe and half a raspberry wine recipe and just combining in a demijohn, but afterwards I found an actual recipe for rhubarb and raspberry wine in a different book. Doh!

i'm currently making raspberry and white grape wine (the raspberrys from the plot the white grape juice from the supermarket, you don't get much more ish than that

) i basically used a quater of a demijohn of raspberry juice and toped it up with grape juice and used a gervain no2 sachet of yeast, actually i only half filled the demijohn to begin with and i'm glad i did coz it went CRAZY!! for about a week i had a demijohn of rather spectacular looking bright pink throth! any hoo, it's now been toppped up and it's gently glugging away merrily next to me, if i get a chance i'll post a pic (shame i didn't get one at the bright pink and throthy stage) i'll keep you posted on how it's going and of course i'll let you know what it's like when i get round to drinking it. . . .
