He did it! http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/ho ... 44226.html

I'm so pleased. Perhaps those bullies at T@sc@ will sit up and listen now!

I might be getting confused - but why did Hugh have to pay even though he sent in the motion before the deadline?

If I'm reading the article correctly - shouldn't they have to pay because they sent out the paperwork early?

:?

Thats what I meant by dirty tricks. If I'm understanding it, T*sc* were craftily trying to avoid having Hugh's motion included by changing the deadline.

They should be made to pay the whole lot back to a deserving charity - that's despicable.

I used to visit T£££o on the odd occasion to buy store cupboard stuff that I couldn't get anywhere else - but that's it completely now!

I don't care if they sell free range chickens - we refuse to go there anyway. Total boycott. :cussing:

Looks like the T***o AGM might be even more interesting today.

This is on the RTE teletext at the moment ...

T***o Ireland has said allegations that the supermarket giant is exploiting workers in India are unsubstantiated.

It comes as the UK-based charity War on Want claims employees at an Indian textile factory that supplies clothes to the chain take home an average €1.80 for a six-day, 54-hour week.

War on Want said the research, due to be presented at T***o's annual general meeting today by a researcher flown in from India, showed the factory's workers were earning only half a living wage.

Exactly what so many of us have been saying for so long now - how on earth do people think they can buy t-shirts for £2 from there without some kind of sweatshop input going on at the other end?!

I'm thinking of Hugh today at the AGM and sending my positive vibes (for what they are worth!).
