hi - we are back. Festival hair tamed, festival feet scoured and toddler off to nursery saying the fishes were pulling the carts and we saw dolphins (he was also singing Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds so I think he may have been sitting too close to some of our neighbours). Took AGES to get back yesterday as M6 all snarled up and the services were like entering another planet - bright lights crap food and people stressing out. Totally knackered - still bf son#2 so physically tired, but a great time had by all. Really good to bump into fellow ishers Martin and Fee, and we had a burlesque dancer as a "squatter" on our tent village (she parked practically between our tents) but was very nice and told the rowdy eejits next to us to shut up.
Dh is going to go into talks with Martin about commercial production of the "knacker rack" and will no doubt spend the proceeds on a gas guzzling power boat with outdoor air conditioning.
Still trying to forget the smell of the portaloos on the morning breeze.
Next year will be easier as I will have exact notions of where to go what to see and will have weaned son#2 on to pop and crisps :mrgreen:

yippee! Feels like I have been away for a month.....but my mum had put milk and bread in the kitchen for me, so it wasn't so jarring this morning...

Haha, i'd forgotten about the knacker rack!!

It was great to meet you, and i hope your son didn't suffer too much from all the fruit and veg! And the cake...

We didn't have any squatters near us - that would have been great fun! We had the army tent girl, who was very strange and wondered any her tent kept moving when she hadn't pegged it down... and the drugs barons behind us who kept asking if we wanted any MDMA, til i told them in no uncertain terms that no we didn't. We also had the people wioth the HUGE tents in front of us - they were great fun to watch when they were putting them up, it was like a cabaret!

fruit and veg no probs and we bought veg curry later which #1 ate curry and bread and #2 ate the lentil dhal - bargain! We had a tent moment as it is unwritten law of land that it must blow a gale when trying to break camp but it made dh move a bit quicker as he had to hang on to it while SIL ran around removing poles. Has anyone suggested to Andy and Dave that we have a stall next year? My SIL is determined to do the naked bike ride next year (TMI)

I would have been begging the MDMA men to let me live with them for the duration but thats was in my old days before I moved to France!

nah, they were boring MDMA men - they kept telling everyone how long they'd been awake and stuff!

Your neighbours at BGG sound more colourful than ours. We had a party of about 12 yoof who weren't actually THAT bad after the first night. I think the shock of seeing me in my stylish night attire at 5am asking them to be a little quieter may have done the trick. It certainly worked better than when husband yelled "Shut the f*** up" at 4am. Their only response to that was "Shut up, you (pause to think of a real insult) hippies". Well, we rather revelled in the hippy thing for some time! Their only other form of rebellion was to throw Pot Noodle (aargh) containers at the tent. The only real downside to the BGG was that on the last night someone nicked 4 solar lights from outside the tent.

Still missing being there.

What is it with Pot Noodles? Why are they so popular, I wonder? Apart from making useful festival missiles, that is.
