what did you do in the vegpatch/allotment
Re: what did you do in the vegpatch/allotment
In the garden at 6.00 this morning splitting sunflowers and planting more runner beans as I was expecting heavy rain today and wanted to do this beforehand. Hey presto the rain came at about 11.00 and the garden is getting a very much needed watering.

just an hour this afternoon, weeded round my caulis and broccoli and cleared more grasses from the wild half. found a weedy needy looking rhubarb under all the grass and pesky extra raspberry canes, hooray!
also found 3 crowns which had been bought earlier and lost under the stack of tools - looking very peaky but shoved them in anyway ;)

All I seem to be doing is harvesting fruit! Now got 7.7kg of blackcurrants in the freezer, which is 3kg more than last year.
Don't know why so many more, the bushes are about 5 years old. Now onto redcurrants which is not my favourite job.

Picked more broad beans and dug some new potatoes. Collected duck eggs - loads of duck eggs at the moment, but the hens seem to have slowed down a bit. Sowed carrot seed inside the polytunnel and some cabbage seeds. Weeding, weeding, weeding - not doing it much, just wish someone else would! Never seen so many weeds as this year.
