I just get amazed by people's selfishness, stupidity, and total inability to learn from even very recent history...........
~We face the imminent demise of life on earth as we know it, very soon, because of people's behaviour - we have the power to avert the worst of what is in store, but unfortunately our own greed is driving the juggernaut of global capitalism full tilt into the buffers............ :?
I would question "normality" itself - "normality" is what's killing us and our planet - therefore the present manifestation of "normality" is itself deeply flawed.........
-normal to drive fat kids to school?, normal to fly?, normal to commute?, normal to be a "consumer".?..........I don't think I trust "normal" people at all - I think they are the ones that need a damn good kick in their overstuffed selfish backsides! :dave:
Less is indeed more - to those who have the brain to see it - unfortunately.........

Crumbs, while I'll was thinking about a reply, Martin has added his and put more or less what I was thinking only much, much better than I could have said it so I'll just say 'hear, hear!'

We've been brainwashed into thinking we need all this stuff - that it will make us happy. a 52" tv doesn't make you happy....

My son of 16years asked me the other week if I thought politicians were doing enough regarding climate change? My reply was no, next to nothing. Next question, do I think global warming is irreversible? Yes.

People are always astounded that I take the bus to work (I'm a teacher). But in actual fact it is much cheaper and more sensible! There is a bus every fifteen minutes or so in the daytime practically door-to-door (and yes I delibrately chose where to live so this would be the case). I pay a lot less for an annual bus card than to take care of and drive a car. I can use the time that I am travelling to read, work or just think. The bus is comfortable, clean and punctual. On icy mornings I don't have to defrost the windscreen.

Yet still they pity me and ask when I'm going to get a car....

Pity them back and ask when they'll stop wasting their money! Well, let alone do something to reduce their carbon footprint... Money is usually the point that folk understand better.
