Re: New Avatar
You got a craving for mushy peas. Do you have to grow them up sticks or anything, are they a certain variety, I never seen tendrils like that

Re: New Avatar
Cheesypeas!
It's an experiment to see if I can grow them without. Last year I grew them with, but the tendrills were so thick I thought 'ello?
So instead of sowing them 3 staggered rows 2' apart, I spread out the spacing to 8", hoping they will support each other
so far so good at 12" high
Though I do like musshy peas, and pea soup, it's mainly for animal fodder
They are a jappanese variety called Maro (called marrow fat in UK), designed to be grown without support for easy harvesting with machines
remind me and I'll send you some seed in the autumn, or Brown envelope seeds is where I got the first lot from last year (these are from saved seed)

They are outstanding tendrils, I would like some seed of that, just for the fun of it, do you feed the peas to your hens?, how much ground have you got altogether

Re: New Avatar
I call them elevendrills
Remind me and I'll post some to you
They will be food for the turkeys, and I plan of fattening some bonhams this autumn aswell.
We have 2 and a bit acres in total, half is firewood coppice with extra fruit and nut trees, there's 23 4'x30' beds, and about half an acre of grass

I love Ivor Cutler, must be a strange coincidence, I was talking to the wizard about him just two days ago, John Peel used to play his poems and stories a lot
