Yeah I'm clever aren't I
, when it gets downloaded I will show you the photo of me in the snow!
It's melting here a little bit but there have only been two vehicles that have passed our house today (can see from the tracks) - normally there's at least 5.

Well the kids and husband have been at home for the past two days as London, especially the south east has come to a halt so they can't get to work or school. Here we are off to the park making the most of the 6/7 inches we have.
.
I must say it's feeling very
round here.

Re: How many inches do you have?
How much snow - too much, it's inconvenient as it's all on the pavements. Variety of pictures - the bins have been cleared back for use at least once this week. Couldn't be bothered to dig them out for the dustman who actually appeared yesterday some three days late and doing the easy roads. Most of us hadn't bothered to put the bins out.
Town Xmas Fair at the castle is cancelled tomorrow - to cold to be out and to dangerous to get to it. Town Ground Force is staying home and we're a sturdy crew who go out in almost all weathers. The gardeners association hut isn't opening again tomorrow - we did in the snow last January baring one day. Buses are running as and when they can. Trains likewise. Schools have been mostly shut.
Sort of minimal chaos then.

Another 3 or 4 inches last night and Scotland has come to a standstill. Have not managed to get to work for the last 6 days and it's becoming a pain in the butt! Have dug the car out more times than i care to recall including being towed by a land rover. Let it melt, let it melt, let it melt.
No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery
Re: How many inches do you have?
I know, we got another dumping on Monday and are kinda stuck as the M8 is shut (due to open again at 12 tho) so all the traffic is backing up on our road.TheGoodEarth wrote:Another 3 or 4 inches last night and Scotland has come to a standstill. We have no heating and had 2 visits from Transco (or what ever they're called today!) as the boiler has suspected CO2 leak, and now there is a possible gas leak in the street.
These things don't happen in the summer do they?
On the up side, street got cleared today and a gritter followed so our wee road is clear and one of our long awaited parcels arrived.
Phew!

Re: How many inches do you have?
The snow is thawing here. We had 36 inches, but we're used to that (and more). We often get snow in October and November, but not that much. That's January/February/March snow.
The roads were fairly clear yesterday and are very clear today. But John Lewis has just phoned to cancel the delivery of our new washing machine "because of the snow". I've been waiting by the phone for their delivery driver to call and confirm I'm home. Instead, a rep phoned to say we would not get the machine when the weather permits. Bollocks.
We've been without a machine for week—the old one sheared the drive shaft—and now don't know when we'll get a replacement. Grrrr. I'm now thinking I might have to call John Lewis, cancel the order and drive over to Inverurie to see what the local electrical goods shop has in stock. Their prices are much higher, but at least I can drive there, stick a machine in the back of the truck, bring it home and have it working inside two hours.
(I used to like John Lewis but they've stuffed us around with our last few orders.)
