Re: Heart attack food
Ooooh yeah! Last night we had orange yoghurt cake which had been made in a loaf tin, not iced but spread with Oldfella's younglady's home made marmalade which was fabulous! I haven't eaten marmalade in yonks. Yummmmmy.
Anyway we HAD to, as our dinner was too healthy (trout and new potatoes with a lemony vinaigrette dressing and salad).

So hungry now! I eat a lot of marmite which would be OK in small portions on toast, but have been known to sit watching telly, licking it off my fingers dipped in the the jar.

Re: Heart attack food
Maybe according to your law orange yoghurt cake is too healthy too, as it contains yog, oil and real orange juice. The only bad thing about it is the sugar, ditto home made marmalade. So really I should have eaten a bar of chocolate as well?SusieGee wrote:Your dinner sounded lovely MMM but I agree with you, when you have such a healthy main course you are morally obliged to indulge in pud - it's the law

Re: Heart attack food
Tonight's dinner was potatoes sautéed mainly in butter, with just a drop of olive oil to stop it burning.
But the rest of the dinner was cold chicken breast, runner beans and pickled onions (first tasting of this year's), so it all counteracted and the butter had no effect at all.
Plus it was all home grown (apart from the chicken) and I purposely didn't add any calories to the fertiliser when I grew them.

My daughter has decided she's going to give up her vegan principles - just long enough to try a bar at least
My views on Marmite have been well aired

Re: Heart attack food
Now that's just silly.
I've tried chilli flavoured chocolate and that was horrible and I like chilli. I like marmite but it doesn't go with chocolate. Whatever next? Curried chocolate? Bovril chocolate? Salt and vinegar crisp flavoured chocolate?
