There are 2 people I'd really like to meet:
Elrond (do I have to explain this one, or are there enough LOTR nuts here?)

And whichever of my ancestors it was who slapped Kaiser Wilhelm upside the head.

I worked for a while in the Light Entertainment radio department at the BBC and got to meet loads of people. I even once got stalked round the building by John Culshaw. And that's who I'd like to meet. Because I met all Culshaw's voices, but I never got to find out who the real John Culshaw was.

Oh, and Lady Godiva. Exhibitionist or just straight up strong-headed woman?

Not to be pedantic... but it's 'The Big Yin' right by the way n'that naw.
Had you been reading Terry Pratchett? It's the "big Yan" in the Wee Free Men... (I'm just re-reading it - otherwise I wouldn't have noticed!)
Woops, that may well be it! Tery Pratchett would be another, and tolkein and carmondy and and and . . .
Jeremy Daniel Meadows. (Jed).

I changed my mind on mine. I would like to meet my friend Vicky Cox who I found out died yesterday, and tell her she was amazing.

And Tiffany... And a few others of Terry Pratchetts' creations. Oh, the goddess Annoya (sp.?) would be great... And even Death! His figures are so incredibly lifelike - no wonder it's so easy to get lost in his stories!

Ina - Chris has met Terry Pratchet - he says he's a lovely bloke!
I think I'd also like to meet Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton - I bet they'd be fantastic at a party!
Oh and Johnny Dep - I find him a very interesting, amusing, intelligent, creative person - honest
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

He must be - I only heard him on the radio, when they interviewed him re his Alzheimers... :( Just ordered some more of his books. They hardly ever turn up in charity shops (at least around here); everybody seems to hang on to them.

I would have liked to have met Humph  . Not a fan of jazz, but am of ISIHAC. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7367385.stm
I do miss Dead Ringers on the radio. Not the same on tv as they then have to also concentrate on making it look good. I wouldn't like to meet Brian Perkins on a dark night!
