Last year I did a cooks hamper for my mum with home grown dried herbs such as rosemary, basil, thyme etc. It also had infused oils like garlic and basil olive oil and lavender rape seed oil for salads. then added some handy crafts such as cross stitched place mats and some nice cheeses from the local farmers market. went down a treat!
Ive done home made soap with lavender and borage from the garden.
what about making candles and decorating them or making them smelly with essential oils??

Things that keep well always go down well after the excesses of Christmas.

I usually do a few jars of jam/chutney/jelly, pickled eggs/onions, candied orange peel is always nice especially when dipped in chocolate

Lavender bags? Now is a good time to pick and dry lavender.....

I usually try to add non food items too. Little books, a tea towel - things like that.
