Good site Shirlz! Look what I just found out about my lime trees -
"A very acceptable
chocolate substitute can be made from a paste of the ground-up flowers and immature fruit"
Think I had better try this!!!!!

Oooh yes M3... never heard of it before though. Wonder if anyone here has tried it.

Well I had a munch on some immature fruit and dying flowers as I was passing the tree yesterday - thought chewing something was pretty well the same as grinding it up! - and - just tastes of nothing, really. Boo hoo!

Sad! If you've ever parked under a lime (linden) tree you'll know there's a lot of sugar in the sap. Then there's the old carol - "There stood in heav'n a linden tree/and though 'twas honey-laden..."
A herb tea made with lime flowers is noticeably sweet. I think your chocolate-substitute recipe might be a little overegging the pudding, though!
