Gosh what an inspirational thread. Not much I can add to it. I save the 2 free newspapers we get a week and use them under my potato cages and to pad up new vege patches. We don't get supermarket catalogues as I can view them on line.
I cut the tops off 3 litre plastic bottles half fill it with Kitty litter and any cooking oil ( not that there is much) I drain the oil or fat into that and then place it in the bin. It lasts about a month as I keep it in a dark cool part under the sink. In the summer I only need to change it 2nd monthly as we eat so many fresh salads there is hardly and cooking inside.
I to put the egg shells in the oven once I have finished Baking and let them dry as the oven cools and then #1 son takes great delight in crushing them with a mortar and pesle then we add it to the chook mash
