Shouldn't that be Te$$co ?

Maybe all Te$co customers should now shop in M&S and help them out of their troubles.

Oh well, that fell a little flat .... the S's are actually dollar signs but they don't show up very well.

This isn't a reflection on society but rather on the few who own shares in TeSSco.
hmmmm yes right, so people who own shares in tescos are not part of society... they may be of a different culture but they sure seem to be part of the human race. Many of the shares are perhaps owned by pension funds, and other investment opportunities which the vast majority of the population have money tied up in. Then there are the people who buy the chickens. Or maybe as Maggie said "There is no Society"

People buy cheap food primarily because it IS cheap. The ability to choose where and what you buy comes either from the luxury of financial security or from strength of conviction. Perhaps understandably, many people living on limited means don't have particularly strong convictions when it comes to chicken welfare...

If you want to talk of "the human race", then, let's face it, the vast majority certainly don't have any "money tied up" in pensions or "other investment opportunities"!

If we allow society to be characterised by the non-ethics of multi-national and trans-national companies or those who simply have sufficient money to make their voices heard, then we don't HAVE a "society".

yeah okay, you win. But you know full well what I meant. You can't segment the UK society just to suit a particular view point, society is made up of all the parts. Sure if you want to go global, I was looking at humans in the UK :flower:
